The College of the Holy Spirit is a catholic school located in Manila. The College of the Holy Spirit of Manila is part of the nationwide school system of the Missionary Congregation of the Servants of the Holy Spirit (SSpS) whose founders are Blessed Arnold Janssen, Blessed M. Helena Stollenwerk and Mother Josepha Stenmanns. Based on the Founders’ Trinitarian spirituality, the College promotes the core values of deep faith, awareness of self and the world, mission, consciousness, perseverance and hard work, simplicity, community orientation, respect for equality and uniqueness, constant communication and unity of purpose.

Please note that the college offers only undergraduate programs and male students are not admitted to all courses.

Financial Assistance Available

The College grants and extends the following scholarships to deserving students:

Entrance Scholarship:

Valedictorians and Salutatorians are given one hundred percent (100%) and fifty percent (50%) tuition fee discount respectively during the first semester of residence provided that:

  • They are graduates of secondary schools duly recognized by Department of Education
  • They come from graduating classes with an enrolment of at least 80 students. This shall be duly certified by their respective principals.

Academic Scholarships:

Each Area with an enrolment of fifty (50) students is entitled to one (1) scholarship, either full or partial. The Area is entitled to a second (2nd) scholarship for the next fifty (50) students based on weighted general average. The Area is further entitled to another scholarship for every additional hundred students after the first hundred.

Kinds of Scholarship According to Weighted Average:

  • Full scholarship consists of a semester’s free tuition for a normal academic load, and earned by the student who obtains the highest general weighted average between 1.00 and 1.25 with no grade lower than 2.00.
  • A partial scholarship consists of a 50% reduction in the semestral tuition fees for a normal academic load and earned by the student who obtains the highest general weighted average between 1.26 and 1.50 with no grade below 2.00.

Alumnae Association Scholarship:

Full or partial tuition subsidy is given to deserving students who are relatives or daughters of CHS alumnae and are financially handicapped.

S.Sp.S Student Aid (Mother Helena Scholarship Fund):

Full or partial tuition subsidy under certain conditions is given to students who are financially handicapped. Applicants are screened by the Scholarship and Student Aid Committee which submits the recommendations to the President of the College for approval.

Athletic Discounts for Varsity Players:

Regular members of inter-scholastic athletic teams are given tuition discounts upon the recommendation of the Athletic Moderator and the Coordinator for Student Organizations, and the approval of the President’s Council.

Student Leader and Editorial Scholarships:

The elected or appointed President of the Student Central Student Board and the editor-in-chief of the student organ are given a tuition subsidy to be determined by the President’s Council and approved by the College President. Said subsidy will depend on the availability of funds.

General Application Procedure

Admission to the College is open to all students who meet its specific standards, requirements and regulations. To qualify for admission the applicant must:

  • Pass the CHS Entrance Test
  • Undergo interviews with the Admission Staff and the Area Chairperson
  • For Fine Arts applicants: In addition to the preceding requirements, must pass the Creativity Test
  • Register at the Guidance Center and pay Php350.00 at the Finance Office for application and testing fee.
  • Get your schedule for the entrance examination from the Guidance Center

Submit the following documents at least one (1) week before the scheduled entrance examination:

  • Fully accomplished application form.
  • Photocopy of the current 4th year high school grades.
  • Two recommendation letters from the school principal, teachers and guidance counselors in the prescribed form.
  • Two (2) photocopies each of the birth (with local civil registry no.) and baptismal certificates.
    FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS: photocopy of the Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR). Student Visa/Study Permit and Passport. Four (4) of recent, identical passport size pictures.

Take the entrance examination on the designated day.

  • Follow-up test results one (1) week after the examination.
  • Successful examinees come for an interview with one of the parents and submit the original 4th year high school card (Form 138). Transfer students must submit original certified true copy of grades and transfer credential / honorable dismissal.
