Scholarship Programs at Ton Duc Thang University

Ton Duc Thang University is a public university operated under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, established on September 24, 1997. In August 2019, TDTU is ranked as number 1 university in Vietnam and TOP 1000 universities in the world (by ARWU).

TDTU has the responsibility of developing high quality human resources for Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC) and the whole country in which we lay a clear emphasis on giving training to labour workers, conducting increasingly effective applied and scientific research to contribute to the country’s development in the long run and committing themselves to increasing the country’s prosperity, stability and sustainability. MASTER’S PROGRAM

Duration: 18 – 24 months

Entry Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and Transcript in a relevant applied major (Please see The list of relevant and closely relevant major here).
• English Language Proficiency:
  • English is a medium of instruction for the master program: TOEIC 600, TOEFL iBT 50, IELTS 5.5, PET/FCE 160 (English certificates must be valid for two years from the test date up to the application date) 
  • Vietnamese is a medium of instruction for the master program: TOEIC 500, TOEFL iBT 45, IELTS 4.5, PET/FCE 140 (English certificates must be valid for two years from the test date up to the application date)

1. Application Form (Online Submission)
2. Curriculum Vitae/ Resume
3. Certified true copies of Bachelor Degree certificates and transcripts (attached English translation if transcripts are in a foreign language)
4. Statement of purpose (500 words)
5. Criminal record
6. Passport (copy)
7. Reference Letter (if any)
8. Photograph (3×4 cm)
9. Health check report (within the last 6 months)
10. Applicants who completed their degree in a language other than English are required to submit evidence of English proficiency

PhD’S PROGRAM

Duration: 36 – 48 months

Entry Requirement

• Master’s Degree and Transcript in a relevant applied major (Please see The list of relevant and closely relevant major here).
• Bachelor’s Degree and Transcript in a relevant applied major.
• English Language Proficiency:
  • For foreign applicants apply for the scholarship: TOEFL iBT 60, IELTS 6.0, PET/FCE 169 (English certificates must be valid for two years from the test date up to the application date) 
  • For Vietnamese applicants and foreign students apply without scholarship: TOEFL iBT 45, IELTS 5.0, PET/FCE 160 (English certificates must be valid for two years from the test date up to the application date)

Graduation Requirements

1. Complete at least 18 credits of core and elective courses;
2. Complete a PhD dissertation proposal;
3. Complete a PhD dissertation and defend it successfully in front of a Committee;
4. Submit a Vietnamese language certificate (B2 level);
5. Published as the main author:
   • Two (02) ISI papers in the field of Science and Engineering (at least); 
   • One (01) ISI paper/ two (02) Scopus papers in the field of Social – Economic – Finance – Business.

7. Two (02) Reference letters (at least one (01) letter of Master thesis’s advisor)

11. Health check report (within the last 6 months)
12. Applicants who completed their degree in a language other than English are required to submit evidence of English proficiency
