King Abdulaziz University includes two separate campuses according to Islamic regulations one for males and another for females. Each of these campuses is provided with all cultural, recreational and athletic facilities, in addition to a big library equipped the most up to date technology to serve students and the teaching staff. Within four decades, the university becomes one of the outstanding higher education institutions on the local and international level. This university offers educational programs for preparing the graduates to do jobs that cope with the changing needs of the community.
After being established , the university included branches for other universities like Teeba University in Al-Madina Al-Monawarah which became an independent university in ( 1424h – 2003g) , the branch of Tabouk University and Jasan University which were also became independent universities, The North Borders University and Araar and Rafha colleges.
The university witnessed much development in quality and quantity since it was established until it becomes one of the distinguished universities in terms of the number of students, the number of scientific and theoretical fields of study and the exclusiveness of certain specializations such as Seas Sciences, Geology, Nuclear Engineering, Medical Engineering , Meteorology and Aviation and Mineralization.
King Abdulaziz University is Considered a pioneer in offering higher education to the Saudi girl and the female and male sections were inaugurated in the same year.
The University not only has the regular students program but it also has the external program to make it easy for all students to get higher education. It also established the Deanship of Distant Teaching to cope with the development in learning and teaching technology.
Requirements for Undergraduate Program
- Student must be of good conduct.
- Student must make full commitment to the KAU regulations and by-laws.
- Student must be medically fit.
- Student must have obtained a secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent from within KSA or abroad.
- Regular Students attending in the morning duty must commit themselves to full time study.
- The student’s secondary school graduation certificate must not be older than 3 years.
- Student must not be younger than 17 years old or older than 25 years old for undergraduate level.
- Student must not be dismissed from any university for any reason.
- Student must not have been awarded a scholarship from a Saudi University.
- A Female student must be accompanied by a relative who is within the prohibited degrees with a regular resident.
- Student must be eligible for admission requirements.
Requirements for Master’s Program
- Student must not be older than 30 years old.
- Student must obtain a recognized qualification in his/her own country with a minimum grade (very good) in case their final degree classifications were awarded in an estimate.
- English language tests
- Student must be of good conduct and medically fit.
- Student must provide two recommendation letters from his/her previous faculty members
- Student must not have been dismissed from one of the Saudi Institutions.
- Candidates of Arabic Language and Literature, Islamic Law and Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Information Science programs must be professional in spoken and written Arabic language.
- Student must be of good conduct and medically fit.
Requirements for PhD Program
- Student must not be older than 35 years old.
- Student must obtain a recognized qualification in his/her own country with a minimum grade (very good) in case their final degree classifications were awarded in an estimate.
- English language tests
- Student must be of good conduct and medically fit.
- Student must provide two recommendation letters from his/her previous faculty members.
- Student must not have been dismissed from one of the Saudi Institutions.

Scholarship Coverage
King Abdulaziz Offers Fully Funded Scholarships for International Students in Saudi Arabia. All the Expenses will be covered by the University who will get admission.
- A Monthly Bursary of Sr 900
- A Monthly Bursary Sr 1000 (A Research Assistant Without Summer Time ), the Contact Applies For One Semester Only Between The Deanship Of Graduate Studies And The Student And In Case Of The Two Parties’ Desire To Contract For Another Semester.
- A Preparation Allowance When Coming For The First Time Of Sr 1,800.
