Lanzhou University of Technology (LUT) is situated in Lanzhou, an important city on the ancient Silk Road and the capital city of Gansu Province, China. LUT was formerly called Gansu Provincial Technical College in 1919. Then it became Gansu University of Technology in 1958, and was renamed Lanzhou University of Technology in 2003. After nearly one hundred years of development, LUT has grown to be a top multi-disciplinary university, which features solid foundation in Engineering, increasing development in science fields, and unique characteristics in liberal arts.
LUT encompasses nine fields of study, i.e., Engineering, Science, Management, Literature, Legal Studies, Education, Medicine, Fine Arts and Economics. It holds 16 provincial key disciplines and 4 national defense disciplines, among which two disciplines—Engineering and Materials Science—rank among top 1% of ESI International Ranking. There are 5 postdoctoral research stations, 6 first-level discipline doctoral degree programs, 25 second-level discipline doctoral degree programs, 23 first-level discipline master degree programs, 92 second-level discipline master degree programs and 66 undergraduate programs in LUT, all of which are available for international students.

NOTE: Those who failed to meet Chinese language requirement are suggested to attend one-year Chinese language program on self-funded basis at LUT. Once proved to be qualified in Chinese language proficiency and annual academic review, he/she will be preferably considered for the scholarship.
Scholarship Coverage
Applicants can apply for President Scholarship with a HSK 4 with no less than 200 scores. The scholarship covers tuition; accommodation and a stipend of CNY 1,500 per month (totally 10 months).
Fees to be paid: textbook fees and insurance fee.
The scholarship is subject to an annual review. From the second year on, the scholarship is decided based on performance and academic results of the previous year.
NOTE: Fees for books and insurance are not included in the scholarship.

Application Process
Step 1. Complete the online application form (please visit https://lut.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx) and upload supporting documents. Pay the application fee and upload the remittance receipt through the application system.
Documents you should prepare:

(2) Notarized highest diploma
Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by their current school to prove their current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
(3) Academic transcripts(in Chinese or English)
Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
(4) Photocopy of passport homepage, visa and residence permit (if available)
(5) Study plan (undergraduate students)/ Research proposal (graduate students)
(6) Letters of recommendation from at least two professors/associate professors (graduate students)
(7) Certificate of no criminal record
(8) Photocopy of valid HSK 4 Certificate(200 scores or above)
(9)Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
Step 2. Applicants who pass the initial review will receive an email for a WeChat interview. During the interview, we’ll look at the applicant’s Chinese proficiency, basic knowledge of the major as well as overall performance.
