HKU offers 41 undergraduate programmes across 10 faculties, covering more than 100 major areas of study. We aim to provide students with a broad-based education across different disciplines with a global perspective, in order to develop students’ intellectual and personal strengths. We expect the best out of our students, who are among the top achievers in their schools and often their countries.
HKU consistently receives the highest number of awards of any University Grants Committee-funded institution (UGC) in Hong Kong. Students have the opportunity to conduct research internships in the laboratories of HKU professors, 114 of whom have been ranked among the World’s top 1% of scientists by Clarivate Analytics. Among the 114 HKU scientists, 15 of them are named in the list of ‘Highly Cited Researchers’ as among the world’s top researchers whose work have been highly cited by their fellow academics and are hence making a significant impact on ongoing research in their respective fields.

English Language Requirements
- IELTS_ An overall band of 6.5 in IELTS Academic Module (within 2 years after the test date)
- TOEFL_ A score of 93 in the TOEFL internet-based test, or an overall score of 70 in the revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test (October 2017 onwards) (within 2 years after the test date)
