Scholarships for ASEAN Students 2020 at Chulalongkorn University

Chulalongkorn University is the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand. Founded in 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), the university was named as a tribute to the king’s royal father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Over a period of time, Chulalongkorn University, or Chula for short, has grown to become a top ranked university. Today, Chulalongkorn University is composed of 19 faculties, 23 colleges and research institutes. Currently there are over 38,000 students including approximately 25,000 undergraduates, 13,500 postgraduates (11,000 in the Master Degree and 2,150 in the Doctoral Degree programs) and 2,800 faculty members. The Faculty of Communication Arts

The Faculty of Communication Arts is one of the 18 Faculties in Chulalongkorn University, located on Phayathai Road in the heart of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Founded in 1965, it was originally an independent department named the Department of Mass Communications and Public Relations. It officially became a Faculty in 1974, known publicly as the Faculty of Communication Arts. At present, the Faculty consists of over 70 full-time faculty members and over 1,000 students. Each year the Faculty has a capacity for 150 new undergraduate students and 335 new graduate students. Overtime, the Faculty has established an outstanding reputation in variuos communication areas such as Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Motion Pictures and Still Photography, Speech communication and Performing Arts. It is widely recognized that the Faculty has produced numerous communication professionals working in both public and private sectors in Thailand as well as overseas.

Requirements of Eligible Applicants
  1. Applicants must be undergraduate students at an accredited university in an ASEAN country except Thailand
  2. Applicants must be a citizen of an ASEAN member country
  3. All ASEAN students studying in Thailand are ineligible to apply
Selection Criteria
  1. TOEFL or IELTS score report
  2. Transcript
  3. Letters of Recommendation
  4. Interview (to be conducted online)

** Only TOEFL and IELTS test scores will be considered. English Proficiency testing results or certificates issued by a university will not be accepted **

Scholarship Coverage

One-semester Full Scholarship

  • Tuition of 91,000 Baht 
  • Expenses 50,000 Baht
  • Air Ticket Reimbursement (not exceed than 9,500 Baht )

Second Semester (January – May 2021) – 2 scholarships available

  • TOEFL score: at least 79 (IBT) or higher, or
  • IELTS score: at least 6.5 or higher, or

(Scores must be less than 2 years old based on the date of application)
